PLASTIC SURGERY PROCEDURES GEELONG
Body Recon offers a full range of cosmetic and reconstructive procedures in addition to a range of non-surgical treatments. We are passionate about providing state of the art medical treatments with the most up-to-date products, procedures and technology available.
Having surgery is an extremely important decision – you’re about to let someone perform a procedure on your body often under a general anaesthetic. It’s vital therefore to have absolute trust in your surgeon and his team. Your surgeon needs to be highly qualified and be extremely good at what he does.
Unlike doctors (many of whom are not surgeons) who perform procedures in their “clinic” with no back-up, Richard performs breast surgery at the modern facilities at St John of God Hospital in Geelong, Epworth Hospital, Waurn Ponds, or at Barwon Health (Geelong Public Hospital). Thankfully things rarely go wrong, but if they did, it’s important to know that everything can be taken care of. Richard has a team of fully qualified, trusted anaesthetists to ensure your surgical experience is safe and comfortable.
Right from your first contact with us at Body Recon, you can be sure to be put at ease. We reserve priority appointments for breast surgery, and our relaxed friendly staff will make you feel comfortable and answer any questions you may have prior to your appointment with Dr Rahdon. In fact, we can even schedule an appointment free of charge with our very experienced cosmetic nurse if you would just like an informal chat about surgical procedures. Richard sees his cosmetic patients at our Gheringhap Street Clinic and non-cosmetic patients at his rooms in SJOG hospital, both of which are modern and spacious- what you’d expect when visiting a plastic surgeon.
Dr Rahdon is confident you will be extremely happy with your results. He has a full folio of recent cases he has operated on, which he will be happy to show you. Many of his patients would be happy to be contacted to discuss their experiences with you.

Dr. Fraser Gilmour performs all types plastic and reconstructive surgery with a special interest in skin. Following biopsy of lesions, if warranted a surgical plan would be made by Dr. Gilmour. This may be done in our rooms under local anaesthetic or you may need admission to hospital. Some excisions require skin flaps or skin grafts for closure. Simple excisions can be done as day cases, larger excisions that require grafts often need you to stay in hospital for a number of days.
Dr. Gilmour also treats other conditions such as carpal tunnel syndrome, De Quervains, Dupuytrens contracture just to name a few. Treatment and management of hand injuries such as fractures, crush injuries, workplace injuries and injuries following motor vehicle accidents are also treated at by Dr. Gilmour at Body Recon Skin Doctors.
A referral from your local doctor is required to see Dr. Gilmour about these conditions. You will be given an appointment to see Dr. Gilmour to assess your condition and make a treatment plan for surgery. We will also provide you with a written estimate of costs of the surgery.
Unlike doctors (many of whom are not surgeons) who perform procedures in their “clinic” with no back-up, Richard and Fraser perform breast surgery at the modern facilities at St John of God Hospital in Geelong, Epworth Hospital, Waurn Ponds, or at Barwon Health (Geelong Public Hospital). Thankfully things rarely go wrong, but if they did, it’s important to know that everything can be taken care of. Both our surgeons have a team of fully qualified, trusted anaesthetists to ensure your surgical experience is safe and comfortable.
The first step is an initial consultation with Dr. Rahdon. This is an opportunity to discuss your options with him and work out together what is best for you. It is also the opportunity to obtain more information about the procedure that you are interested in and how it will work for you. Dr Rahdon and his team will explain every step of the surgery, the risks and desired outcomes as well as any other questions you may have. Dr. Rahdon can show you “before” and “after” photos of his work.
A comprehensive medical history will be taken and examination done during your consultation. We are also able to organise a suitable date for your procedure at this stage. A second consultation can be arranged, if required, prior to surgery.
Body Recon has excellent operating facilities in our rooms at both St John of God and Epworth Hospitals, where our surgeons are able to perform a range of procedures from the treatment of skin cancers and carpal tunnel syndrome to more complex surgery.
For more major surgeries Dr Rahdon operates most commonly at the award winning St John of God Day Surgery Centre and St John of God main theatres but also operates at Epworth Hospital, Waurn Ponds and Barwon Health. Dr Gilmour operates primarily at Epworth Hospital, Waurn Ponds and Barwon Health.
We regard this as a very important part of your care. You will be advised pre-operatively of any limitations to work or regular activities and how often you will need to be reviewed following surgery. Our surgeons need to ensure that you are recovering well and that you are happy with the results of your procedure. Patients will be supported 24/7 by an on-call Plastic Surgeon as well as a nursing contact for cosmetic patients.
Your doctor will see you on the day of your surgery, both before and after your procedure. Once you’re ready to leave hospital, you will be given all the information and medication you need to ensure you are relaxed, comfortable and confident. Depending on the surgery you will usually have a surgical review at one week, six weeks and three months after surgery, but rest assured you can have as many follow-up appointments as you need.
