ABOUT FRAC 3 REJUVENATION

The FRAC3 treatment is a non-ablative, new revolution in skin rejuvenation and anti-ageing. FRAC3 utilises Nd:YAG laser, it stimulates the skin’s natural capacity to rejuvenate by selectively inducing micro wounds in prematurely aged or damaged portions of the dermis and epidermis. The laser action creates a 3 dimensional matrix of micro wounds which are concentrated at specific depths of the existing skin damage. As the surrounding tissue remains unaffected and the treatment intensity is minimized, you can have a healthy, natural glow without the discomfort and downtime associated with some other procedures.

FRAC3 is also fantastic for treating diffused redness and managing rosacea because it stimulates angiogenesis and vasodilation of the capillaries and blood vessels. For rosacea, we often combine FRAC 3 with KTP laser to treat the micro vascular component of the skin.

This very safe and non-invasive procedure is often referred to as a “lunch hour face lift.” This is the new benchmark in non-ablative laser skin treatments.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Initially you may notice a slight redness, however this settles very quickly and most people can return to normal activities straight away. The treatment creates a thermal response but there is no breaking of the skin and therefore there is no downtime associated with FRAC3. Often, clients may choose to have FRAC3 during their lunch breaks- our therapists will be able to apply corrective mineral make-up post treatment to ensure that no one at the office will be any the wiser!

How many treatments are required is really dependent on what type of results you are wanting and what condition is being treated. FRAC3 can be done as a one-off treatment for a quick pick-me-up or it can be utilised in a course for better results. Often FRAC3 will be combined with other laser modalities (fractional, KTP, acne) to treat a wider range of conditions.

With any skin rejuvenation you will be required to prepare your skin at home. This is to ensure that you achieve the best results with an even penetration and without complications. You wouldn’t run a marathon without training first and the same applies to your skin.

Often at least one prepping peel may be required. For FRAC3 prep we often use a lactobotanical peel to help hydrate and plump the skin to ensure that the laser is going to penetrate evenly and safely. Correct preparation allows us to predict how your skin will respond to treatment, decreasing risks and complications.

The first step with FRAC3 is for one of our clinicians to assess your skin’s suitability for the treatment. Not all skin conditions and skin types are suitable or there may be another laser that is more suited to your concerns. At Body Recon all of our clients who want any form of skin rejuvenation will receive a Visia Skin Analysis. Visia will be able to record results of your treatments and provide us with before and after photos. Visia is important because it will determine different skin conditions and allow us to assess all of the aspects that make up your skin- vascularity, elasticity, UV damage, depth of pigment, pores etc. This is extremely important to allow us to correctly identify the best treatment plan for you and to provide you with detailed information on any recommended services. We will also discuss in more detail what the treatment involves and establish goals of what you hope to achieve from any or all treatments.

No, with FRAC3, you will feel a sensation of heat accumulation in the skin. Some areas may be more sensitive than others- clients often find that the forehead can be slightly more sensitive as it is a bonier area. You will have no pain or discomfort post treatment.

Your technician will be able to advise you on a topical homecare regime. It is extremely important to care for your skin post treatment as it may be more sensitive initially after FRAC3 laser. You will be provided with a post-care information sheet and it is important to follow these instructions to ensure that the skin is well cared for and protected at all times. General guidelines initially are to avoid any direct sun exposure, to apply only prescribed topical homecare, to avoid exercise for 24 hours and to ensure the skin remains clean and protected at all times.

Standard FRAC3 laser is $300. Often we will tailor a treatment package that may include prep and post care and multiple treatments and/or modalities for a heavily discounted rate. If a client is interested in having a treatment package drawn up then this is done at the same time as the Visia skin analysis.

FRAC3 is a great treatment for clients who require no downtime. FRAC3 is considered to be a lighter option of treatment and therefore may be more suitable for younger clients with very little damage or rosacea but less appropriate for those requiring deeper treatments.

Often FRAC3 will be used in combination with gentle chemical peels to achieve lighter more beautiful skin.
