A Guide to Skin Bio-Remodelling Injections – Our Latest Treatment

There is so much hype about the new bio-remodelling (Profhilo) injectable treatment, sometimes described as an “injectable moisturiser”. So let’s take a deep dive into it and what makes it so amazing.

Most people are familiar with the most common types of injectables; anti-wrinkle injections and dermal filler. Whilst these are great for targeting specific skincare concerns, Profhilo is filling the gaps when it comes to attaining a more youthful, supple appearance. With Profhilo, it’s not about movement, volume or definition. It’s all about skin condition – hydration, strength and elasticity.

What is Bio-remodelling (Profhilo)?

Our bio-remodelling injectables treatment is a revolutionary hyaluronic acid (HA) moisturising treatment that delivers HA deeper into the skin than any topical HA moisturising serum can.

Since launching in 2015, it has become one of the world’s most popular anti-ageing, skin-remodelling treatments. Now available to Australia, Profhilo works to increase the production of two structural components of our skin which deplete with age; collagen and elastin.

It’s a runny, ‘honey’ like substance made from stabilised hyaluronic acid, known for its ability to draw and retain water, hydrating the skin over very long periods of time.

What is Profhilo used for?

As we age, our skin cells aren’t able to replace those two components, collagen and elastin, as quickly as before. This results in a weakening of the structural integrity of the skin – it becomes less plump, less resilient, and less elastic. Profhilo is used where your skin lacks vitality and elasticity, however, it’s important to note that Profhilo doesn’t add volume to a deficit area like a traditional filler. Rather, it remodels the substructure of the skin, returning it to a more youthful condition.

Profhilo can help to:

  • Stimulate collagen and elastin production
  • Improve skin tone, texture and overall quality
  • Reduce the appearance of fine lines
  • Moisturise and hydrate the skin
  • Create smoother and brighter-looking skin giving you a youthful “lit-from-within glow”

What are the effects of a Profhilo treatment?

After a Profhilo treatment you can expect to see improved skin strength, resilience, elasticity, firmness and hydration – a facial glow from within.

Profhilo is sometimes called “The Injectable Moisturiser”

How long does Profhilo treatment take?

Profhilo is a relatively quick treatment. It involves 5 injections points on each side of the face. Your consultation and treatment will usually be around 30 minutes. Initially clients will need two treatments spaced 4-6 weeks apart. While full results won’t take effect for around 6 weeks you should notice increased skin hydration and that “lit-from-within glow” immediately.

How long does Profhilo last?

Following the second treatment, impactful results including increased collagen and elastin should last for approximately six to twelve months. Individual results may vary from patient to patient.

Can anything go wrong with Profhilo?

Though there’s a risk involved with all cosmetic procedures, Profhilo only targets the dermis (upper level of skin) and is considered low-risk.
